i do not know i havent done that mission but i do not recall any chest spawning after killing one of the bosses.

Are these chests that require keys? Where are you finding this occurs?

Chests often start near bosses, and odds are if theres a boss your not looking for chests

yea they require keys but it happens in DOA now as well

Haven't done that mission in a while so not sure about that. However, while farming the spiders by the boss Zelnehlun Fastfoot in The Floodplain of Mahnkelon I've noticed some Kournan Chests spawn only after the enemies spawn. So, since new enemies spawn after you kill the bosses in that mission I guess the same thing could be happening there as well. Possibly new enemies could result in new chest spawns?
Edit: Also, the drops from those new spawned chests are the same as all the other Kournan Chests in the area. Nothing special about them.

One of the updates changed chests in certain areas (DoA, and from your description other heavily run areas) so that they only spawn after a certain event takes place.
This kind of thing takes place most noticeably in Gloom or Stygian where chests spawn AFTER the final boss is killed or other random quest objectives complete. It's a rather decent fix to prevent mass chest running.

Chests will spawn once you complete a quest.. it was an update a while back.

Well a least I'm not seeing things.
Must have missed that update note.
Can anyone post a link to the update note?
Pretty good idea to stop the running ok - it would be better if they had of have a better chance of being golds.....
That would be a nice balance.

I like the idea but would also like to see the loot quality being bumped up a notch or two to reflect the effort it took for the chest to spawn. I haven't had a chance to look into this yet so it might be possible that it already has, but if not it I think that it should.

I think I missed it too, so no chests at all without killing a boss?
Only note I can find in the Update Notes is:
